Dir. Sam Soko. Kenya, 2020, 96 mins. Political activist Boniface “Softie” Mwangi has long fought injustices in his home country of Kenya. Now he’s taking the next step by running for office in a regional election, but it becomes increasingly difficult for him to run a clean campaign against corrupt opponents on idealism alone. Boniface soon finds that challenging strong political dynasties is putting his family in danger, and he ultimately must decide if representing his country is worth the risk. Winner of the Special Jury Award for Editing, World Cinema Documentary, at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. An Icarus Films release. View trailer.
