Veteran Cuban filmmaker Fernando Pérez’s tragicomedy explores friendship in present-day Havana. Miguel, a busboy in his mid-forties, waits for a visa to the United States while he works at a downbeat diner. His gay roommate and childhood friend Diego suffers from AIDS and dreams of having more time to live. Suddenly, Diego’s old apartment fills with characters from all walks of life who might change their lives.
