In 2011, after a night out with friends, 22-year-old Sian O’Callaghan vanished. As Detective Steve Fulcher (Martin Freeman) begins to piece together her last movements, he ties her disappearance to a local man who confesses his involvement in another woman’s disappearance years earlier. A Confession traces the paths of two mothers living mere steps from one another whose daughters had gone missing, and parallels their story with that of Det. Fulcher, whose career and marriage are imperiled when he faces expulsion from the force for eliciting the very confession that could deliver justice. Join the Museum’s Curator of Film Eric Hynes as he traces the development of this true story into a thrilling six-part BritBox original series with real-life author Fulcher, Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Jeff Pope (Philomena), and director Paul Andrew Williams.
